Quality Standard 2: Teachers establish a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment for a diverse population of students.
Standard Reflection:
I feel like I was very successful at achieving this standard. I would say this is where I am strongest. I really enjoy connecting with students and building relationships. I think I was able to create a supportive learning environment for all students, I think there is still area for growth working with more diverse needs. I hope to gain these skills as I gain experience in the field
Element a: Teachers foster a predictable learning environment characterized by acceptable student behavior and efficient use of time in which each student has a positive, nurturing relationship with caring adults and peers.
Reasoning Statement:
At the end of both of my student teaching placements I received a some cards from my students. This highlights the relationships that I was able to build with all my students.

Element b: Teachers demonstrate an awareness of, a commitment to, and a respect for multiple aspects of diversity while working toward common goals as a community of learners.
Reasoning Statement:
These are the artist examples I used for an assignment for making animal sculptures using a found object. I represented multiple artists that addressed different things, including being more environmentally aware through reusing and recycling materials. Included are the artist slides from my presentation.

Element c: Teachers engage students as individuals, including those with diverse needs and interests, across a range of ability levels by adapting their teaching for the benefit of all students.
Reasoning Statement:
For my high school students in Sculpture their first project to help them get into the groove of the semester was clay masks that represent and emotions. We had students at all different levels in this class, they all had taken the prerequisite of the 3D Design class so they have worked with the material before. I included the differentiation section of the lesson plan and some of the final products from the class at different skill levels.






Element d: Teachers work collaboratively with the families and/or significant adults for the benefit of students.
Reasoning Statement:
While I was at Rocky Mountain High School I attended both an in-person back to school night at the beginning of the quarter and virtual parent teacher conferences later. I was able to connect with some parents at both of these events. Some of the parent teacher conferences we discussed plans to help support some students who were struggling. Included is a short reflection after my back to school night from my journal.
