Quality Standard 1:
Teachers demonstrate mastery of and pedagogical expertise in the content they teach. The elementary teacher is an expert in literacy and mathematics and is knowledgeable in all other content that he or she teachers (e.g., science, social studies, arts, physical education, or world languages). The secondary teacher has knowledge of literacy and mathematics and is an expert in his or her content endorsement area(s).

Standard Reflection:
Through my experience during my degree at CSU I have developed my skills under this standard. I have taken many studio class that have taught me different art mediums and techniques which I have shown through teaching multiple lesson over the course of 4 years. I have been able to integrate math and literacy but that is the area I could most improve upon. I enjoy bring in the science in art and any history I can but can work on including the other areas.
I am also
familiar with the Colorado Visual Arts Standards and am able to identify how my lesson address the standards. I enjoy matching these with my own objectives to help it be clear to students what my expectations are.

Element a: Teachers provide instruction that is aligned with the Colorado Academic Standards, their District’s organized plan of instruction, and the individual needs of their students
Reasoning Statement: These Sections of my Lesson Plan for Floating Fish relates its objectives back to the Colorado Academic Standards for High School Art. The Self Reflection shares how the objectives were achieved and therefore, how the standards were achieved.

Element b: Teachers develop and implement lessons that connect to a variety of content areas/disciplines and emphasize literacy and mathematical practices.
Reasoning Statement:
This is an information sheet that was given to high schoolers in a 3D-Design. This is possibly their first experience with glaze so the sheet shares about glazing rules.  When I first introduced glaze there are many questions about how it works so I went into more detail about the chemistry part of glaze. I think if I created a sheet for my classroom I would had How Glazes Work section to help students understand better.

Element c: Teachers demonstrate knowledge of the content, central concepts, inquiry, appropriate evidence-based instructional practices, and specialized characteristics of the disciplines being taught.
Reasoning Statement:
This is the section from my Floating Fish Lesson Plan that shares my instruction and student action. Day one focuses on helping students plan and generate ideas for their project. Students were able to practice evidence based instruction through their research. I have also included some of the students research work to prove this.
