This lesson was done in a high school sculpture classroom. Students had to find an object to incorporate into their sculpture. These are a few results from the class!

This lesson was about expressing emotions using clay. This was designed for elementary but these students were lower functioning adults with many different needs through the program Artistic Abilities.

This lesson was designed for high school students. It focused on integrating technology and a theme of a social issue. We used a laser cutter and had a theme of the environment. Students thought about an area/section of land that had some significance to them and create a past, present, and imagined future topographical map. We also talked about performance art and destroyed one version using something that effects that area. For Antartica the student choose snow. Our student who choose Mexico, filled a bag with water to shake around to act like a hurricane.

These are painted clay tiles for a beginning 3D class at the high school level. Students focused on how to create textures and then on color matching to help create realistic scene.

This was a mini lesson for a high school class but it would work well at any level. This class was very focused on perfection and their art having to be right otherwise it has no value. They rotated through a couple people and did blind contour drawings. They ended up using them a their art show by their art work, but my favorite thing was how they loosened up over time and laughed and smiled through drawing.

This is a bulletin board I put together with a collection of elementary art work. Birds from kindergarten, focusing on color mixing. Zebras from first grade, working on motor skills or painting and cutting out different shapes form one piece of paper. The lizards are from 4th grade with a main focus on using a 2D Material like paper to create a 3D artwork.

This project is from a high school advance drawing class. The first image highlights more of what the assignment was. Students chose 7 images from many collections that my mentor had and then took elements from at least 3 of their pictures to create their drawing which could be any media. In the first artwork the student choose the Taj Mahal image and choose to use the reflection on water in their final drawing.
